We are ensuring our community benefits from the federal Clean Energy Plan bringing billions to Nevada through lower household bills, reduced environmental pollution, and more jobs.
Our voices are powerful. For many years, Latine families demanded climate action from the federal government. We urged Congress and the White House to clean up our air, make clean energy affordable and accessible, and help communities at the frontlines of environmental injustice confront the climate crisis. And the Biden-Harris administration delivered with the Clean Energy Plan.
The Federal Clean Energy Plan is already cutting pollution, creating new jobs, and lowering costs for our families.
- Cutting pollution from dirty cars, trucks, and buses. The Clean Energy Plan includes $7.5 billion in funding for electric vehicle infrastructure and $10 billion for clean school buses and transit buses to incentivize consumers, small businesses, schools and cities to invest in clean transportation.
- Creating thousands of jobs in solar and battery manufacturing and recycling, with over $7 billion in investments from the Clean Energy Plan. In Nevada, Redwood Materials is working on recycling batteries.
- Lowering energy costs for families through nearly $9 billion in funding for energy efficiency and clean energy upgrades at home.

Clean Ride for Kids
Public school districts in Nevada have been awarded over $17 million to replace older diesel buses with new electric school buses, cleaning up the air our children breathe and saving school districts money.
This includes $10 million for Clark County and $7.7 million for school districts throughout the state. Electric school buses will be rolling out soon in a neighborhood near you!
Faster Buses
The RTC of Southern Nevada received a $150 million grant to build a faster, more frequent bus route on Maryland Parkway connecting downtown Las Vegas, UNLV, the airport and other popular destinations.
Train to CA
The Brightline West high-speed rail project has been approved to receive $3 billion to build a 218-mile passenger rail system between Nevada and California.
Lower Bills
Nevada has received $96.1 million for home energy rebates to cut energy costs by weatherizing homes and replacing old appliances with more efficient models.
We’re expecting state programs to launch later in 2024 or early 2025.
